Welcome to our first issue of the Voices of Hellenism Journal. Because this is our first issue, we obviously cannot provide back issues or previous editions. We are in the process of collecting submissions and expect a finished publication by December of 2012. 

The Literary Society

The Voices of Hellenism Project is more than a journal publication. It is also a literary society and Hellenic organization in the Bay Area. The society is a pending nonprofit startup. We will host lectures, book-signing events, literary events, make presentations, and distribute the journal at various Greek events and road shows. If interested in sponsoring the society, donating, being on the Board of Directors, or volunteering, please fill out the contact form on the contact page, email info@vhpprojec.org, or call 650-504-8549.

Other Projects (Future of Voices of Hellenism Project)   

The literary society is mainly focused on producing the literary journal, but other community projects enhance the society and the Hellenic-American community. The Bay Area historical time capsule is a project that is currently seeking historical items and pictures from members of the Bay Area Greek community. This project is limited to the Bay Area. The time capsule will be opened in 100 years and buried in a neutral location. Poetry readings and book signings will also enhance the literary society. 

The Pride of Our People is a biographical directory that features the achievements of prominent members of the Greek community. We are now accepting nominations, so please print, fill out the form, and email it to info@vhpprojec.org or mail to P.O. Box 1624 San Mateo, CA 94401. Volunteering with Voices of Hellenism is a great way to support the Greek community. Opportunities are intellectually stimulating and offer life-altering experiences. You will find that we are a great organization to work with because we understand that you are busy. Volunteer positions take very little of your time (10 to 15 hours per week, fewer than five meetings per year), and volunteers are very well appreciated and rewarded with recognition, free copies of the journal, free advertising, and guaranteed selection of their writing. Please volunteer today. Many positions are vacant and waiting. Volunteers are not compensated monetarily.
